                Nobody denies the fact that blood is an important and worthwhile fluid for living a healthy life. So it becomes pertinent to know about the different uses of donated blood in medical field.

Great amount of blood is required in the treatment of cancer by chemotherapy.
Blood is used in cases of general surgery.
Cardiothoracic (that is heart and chest surgery) is another type of surgery, where blood is needed.
The requirement of blood is increased in cases of Accident and Emergency.
A large number of units are needed for patients undergoing treatments in Intensive Care Units.
Orthopedics treatment – related to bones and bone diseases, also require blood supply.
Another area where blood is needed is Hematology (blood disorders).
Obstetrics and Gynecology cases also require unconstrained supply of blood.
For pregnant ladies in complex delivery cases.

                The above factors are some of the significant uses of blood. But blood is also vital even for a dying person. Even you can give this priceless gift to someone, just Register yourself with us.

BENEFITS FOR DONORS...

 Donating blood may reduce the risk of heart disease for men.
 Blood donation stimulates the generation of red blood cells.
 The amount of toxic chemicals (e.g. mercury, pesticides, fire retardants) circulating     the blood stream is reduced by the amount contained in given blood.
 The good news is you can give blood again and again to help save more lives!
 If you're a regular blood donor, you can give blood once in 12 weeks.

TIPS ON BLOOD DONATING...

Please have a good meal at least 3 hours before donating blood.
Please accept the snacks offered to you after the donation, it is vital you have them.You are recommended to have a good meal later.
Please avoid smoking on the day before donating. You can smoke 3 hours after donation.
You will not be eligible to donate blood if you have consumed alcohol 48 hours before donation.
We need volunteers from every background and with all types of skills.
